Ms. Hubbard and I work together to serve students, parents, teachers, and provide social emotional learning through classroom social emotional learning (guidance) lessons and small group counseling. Classroom social emotional learning happens each month in every classroom Kindergarten through 5th grade. This is a time when lessons are taught on Emotional Intelligence - friendship, acceptance, diversity, internet and real world safety, bullying, feelings, doing the right thing and being the best we can be. Teachers will be providing daily social emotional learning during morning meetings each day.
In Eanes ISD, the guidance and counseling program is based on the Texas Education Agency’s “Comprehensive Guidance Program for Texas Public Schools: A Guide for Program Development, Pre-K to 12th Grade.” As an integral part of each school’s total educational program, it is designed to encourage the optimum development of each individual student in the areas of:
* Self-Esteem
